First Blog of Mine! Yippee!

Hooray - my first blog posting. And what am I reading?? My main selection is Wally Lamb's The Hour I First Believed - reading it and listening to the amazing George Guidall narrating it on audio. Let me know what you're reading and listening to!

  1. So how are you enjoying Lamb's book? I'm working my way through a Harlan Coben book (needed a break from literary fiction!) called 'Long Lost.' It's not bad, fluffy, which is perfect for now. I keep hearing I need to read the 'Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society.' Have you read that one yet? You MUST get on http://goodreads.com You must!!

  4. Ooh, Debi, let me know how you like American Rust. I was totally blown away by it, and I think a lot of our patrons will like it, too.

  5. I just finished reading Columbine, which I originally didn't think I would read but then kept reading awesome reviews. Apparently, I missed most of the facts that came out after the initial rush of reporting on the tragedy. A very eye-opening book. I'm glad I read it.

I figured I'd go for something fictional and lighter after that, so I'm most of the way through the lovely Jamaica Inn by Daphne du Maurier. Nothing like a good Gothic some days.

I've been eyeing The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo but couldn't decide whether or not to give it a try. Now that I have a "love it" recommendation, I'll probably give it a go. Thanks, Beth!

  7. Finishing up Columbine by Dave Cullen. It's been interesting to read it right after Lamb's book that incorporates the tragedy and is really eye-opening, you're right Meg23! I can't put it down!
